Brook Mead is officially Outstanding!

We are delighted to say that Brook Mead had its first Ofsted inspection in March and has been rated Outstanding in all areas. The Ofsted inspectors said that Brook Mead is “unashamedly ambitious” for its scholars and “there is absolute determination that scholars will excel.”
Creating this amazing school community has been a real team effort and we pay tribute to the staff, scholars and their families who have worked so hard and supported each other over the last three years. We are incredibly proud of everyone.
In the Ofsted report, inspectors noted that: “This is an incredibly diverse and inclusive school community. Different cultures and religions are welcomed. Pupils are knowledgeable and respectful of faiths other than their own.”
It praised the ‘world of opportunity’ offered through Brook Bonus Time, stating: “All pupils are supported to follow interests, develop talents and pursue excellence. Pupils relish these opportunities.”
The report also praised staff and the “unquestionably high expectations of pupils’ behaviour and conduct”.
It said: “There is absolute certainty about the knowledge that should be taught and how this will be learned. Pupils revisit key knowledge and concepts so that they remember them long-term. They speak with confidence about what they have learned and why.”
Principal Rita Hindocha said in her letter to parents and carers: “I feel privileged to serve this incredible community. We are very lucky that staff, parents and children are all united in achieving our ambition of building better futures together.”
She continued: “I want to thank all the people who have supported us over the last three years as we have built Brook Mead into the wonderful school it is. We cannot wait to move into our new building and start the next chapter of Brook Mead’s journey.”
Brook Mead’s permanent building is under construction on Groby Road and Fosse Road North. When completed in 2025 it will house 1,200 students in a three-storey, state-of-the-art teaching block, with extensive sports facilities including an all-weather 3G pitch and hard surface ball courts.
Brook Mead is part of The Mead Educational Trust (TMET). Sarah Ridley, the CEO, said: “I am so incredibly proud of everyone at Brook Mead.  The staff and students work extremely hard day in and day out and they have created a truly amazing school. The comments in the Ofsted report are a testament to their efforts and vision.”
